Depart from Isfahan at 2:30 p.m. and begin your desert adventure.

Visit the Varzaneh Salt Lake, explore ancient Zoroastrian temples, and stop by a natural spring near the desert. Enjoy a relaxing picnic and walk on the sand dunes, then witness a breathtaking sunset followed by stargazing under the Milky Way. End the day with an overnight stay at a cozy Varzaneh desert guesthouse.

Begin early at 5:00 a.m. with a visit to the Castle of Rabbits, a 400-year-old abandoned caravanserai, where you’ll witness a magical sunrise and enjoy breakfast on its rooftop. Continue to the Gavkhouni Wetland, a seasonal haven for flamingos, then hike through striking black volcanic mountains. If traveling during the wet season, you’ll also visit a charming desert waterfall before returning to Varzaneh for lunch and rest.

From here, you can either return to Isfahan or continue your journey to Yazd, with a stop in Naein to visit its historic Jame Mosque and explore the town’s traditional charm.
